An attraction for those interested in studying nature, particularly flora.The Peninsular Botanical Garden (PBG) is located in the Thung Khai District, which is approximately 10 km south of the provincial capital of Trang. It was established in 1993, upon the suggestion of the Prime Minister at the time, Chuan Leekphai, who wished to have a Botanical garden of international standard and to promote research in Peninsular Thailand.
The PBG is located in Thung Khai Arboretum, which is part of the Thung Khai Forest Reserve. About 4016 km of natural forest is present within the PBG. The most exciting activity of the park is trekking. With its many nature trails going through a lowland jungle, as well as a forest with many interesting plant species, nature lovers should not miss this opportunity to explore the terrain. The Botanical Garden can be reached via the Trang-Palian Road (Highway No. 404) until reaching kilometer 11 marker. Accommodations are available.
